Background

Border Sheriffs is raising funds to help Sheriffs such as Cochise County’s Larry Dever have a voice in the lawsuits filed by the Federal Government to prevent our Sheriffs from enforcing the law they are sworn to enforce. They also need our help to defend themselves against lawsuits from the ACLU and more than a dozen other open border activists who don’t want to see SB 1070 (summary — link) enforced.

Sheriff Larry A. Dever has dedicated his life to protecting the citizens of Arizona. Border Sheriffs is attempting to return the favor by helping defend law enforcement in court so that they can enforce our laws against illegal immigration, stop the resulting violence, drug trafficking and families facing harm’s way because no one is policing our border.

Arizona is a state that has seen an invasion of illegal immigrants continue unabated for years. Illegal immigration has taken its toll on Arizona in the form of billions of dollars spent on social services, education and prison costs.

Mexican drug cartels grow more brutal every day and citizens on this side of the border live in fear. Families watch as criminals cross their land or invade their homes.

Much more devastating, though, has been the human toll it has taken. Human and drug smuggling, kidnappings, drop houses and the murder of immigrants and American citizens are just some of the byproducts of our porous border.

After years of begging the federal government for help, Arizona finally had enough and decided to do something about it. The result is the Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act, better known as Arizona Senate Bill 1070 (SB1070 as amended by HB2162 — PDF file).

The ACLU and others would rather leave the serious business of border enforcement to an absentee federal bureaucracy which has shown just in their action of suing the State of Arizona, that they have no intention of trying to enforce immigration laws in our country.

The fed’s response to Arizona’s plea for help is to send us lawsuits instead of soldiers to secure the border. Instead of standing with our own citizens, the Obama administration has sided with the ACLU and the open borders crowd. The ACLU and the Federal Government’s basic argument is that under the United States Constitution, Arizona has no right to enforce immigration law and protect our borders.

Arizona’s Border Sheriffs Need Your Support!

The scope and cost of this litigation is well beyond the resources available to Sheriff Larry Dever and other border sheriffs. Please help us level the scales of justice and help law enforcement stand up to the Federal Government, the ACLU and the open borders crowd in court.

We are disappointed in the lawsuits brought by the ACLU and the US Department of Justice against Sheriffs like Dever and the state of Arizona. The Sheriffs need financial resources to engage lawyers who believe in SB 1070 to make their best arguments for them. Border Sheriffs was formed to provide this support, but needs donations from people passionate about the issue in order to do so. Your donations through BorderSheriffs.com will be used to pay for the legal defense of SB1070 on behalf of  Cochise County Sheriff Dever and others.

About Us

The Border Sheriffs Association was formed to help provide Arizona sheriffs such as Sheriff Dever a sufficient legal defense to take on the Obama Administration, the ACLU and others opposing a secure border and enforcement of SB1070.
